The Baby Birds (Round 1)
Round 1 because yes, there are more eggs in the nest. I'm going to put some fake eggs in there as these new babies hatch, in hopes that mama will stop laying...
So this is stage one of their housing situation. In a couple of months, when we (hopefully) can tell the boys from the girls, we'll get one more cage, and put all the boys in one cage with the dad, and all the girls in another with the mom, and put the original cage with the nestbox away in the attic. Yay!
Meet Obey (pronounced "obie", but from Sprite - Obey your thirst),
Mortimer, Winston, and Lymon (another Sprite bird) :-)
(just so you know, my kids named the birds - lol)

Pretty cute photo! So are they all new babies? Maybe you will have a second income - all those baby birds!!
Oh man...so cute!
They are adorable, aren't they?
Nah, Jeanie, I wouldn't sell them - I'd hate not knowing where they'd end up. I'm keeping them, but planning to try to separate all the boys from all the girls, so there won't be even more babies. And yes, all 4 of these are from the same clutch - the first one hatched 11/20/07, and the rest followed every other day or so. :-)
aww. How do you tell if they're boys and girls? do the boys have little tiny peckers? Hope you get it right-wouldn't want to put a boy in the girls' cage and a girl in the boys' cage!
