I turned off word verification months ago, and I get some spam occasionally, but not that often.
Leesa - I turned it on after getting a couple of those random non-english spam comments, but it's such a pain that I'll leave it off if I don't get tons. =)

Oh thank you! I hate those word verifications. Sometimes I have to try three times before I get one that's decipherable.
Wordpress has some kind of spam blocker, so far I haven't gotten any spams, but it's early days yet.
I haven't had time to look at Wordpress, but I still might...
I know what you mean about the word verifications - they're always in those crazy fonts, and then twisted up or something. Hard to read...
