And Didn't Even Get A Kiss For It...

No, this post is not about anything you're now probably thinking it is - LOL!

My daughter had to leave school sick on Monday, and has been at home ever since. Poor kid's been miserable. We went to the doctor yesterday, who tested for strep, because she has all the "classic" signs of it, but the rapid-test came back negative. So they did the 2nd test that has to be sent off to the lab, and we wait to see what that one says. If it's negative, and my daughter is still feeling bad, the doctor wants to do the bloodwork to test for mono.

That's right, the so-called "kissing disease". And no, that's not how she got it, IF that's what she has. It could also be one of any number of non-specified viruses that cause the same symptoms as strep & mono. So we're basically in "wait and see" mode right now. And crossing our fingers that it's one of those random, will-go-away-soon viruses, that will let her get back to normal in a few days. Wish her luck!

That is such a bummer. I hope she starts to feel better. Ugggh, I hadn't heard of Mono since I was in highschool. I wish her lots of luck with this one.

Thanks, girls! Still no test results, but she does seem to be getting better. Still has a sore throat, but milder, and she's tired, of course, but her stomach & head are better. It's a start! :-)

Thanks, Janet - she does. We got lucky this time, and it wasn't mono. Apparently it was some other virus that acts the same, but for not as long, thank goodness! :-)
